The louvres shut tightly when closed and are waterproof during showers - great for BBQs you're so fond of. Rain water runs down the sides into internal gutters, then down through the legs rather than pouring out over the sides. So you won't have to fear any unexpected deluges from on high, either!

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE WIND, RUST, RAIN:
Our pergolas are wind-rated to 75km/h (Beaufort Scale: 8). We recommend that you leave the louvres in the OPEN position when the pergola is not in use. The closed louvres act a bit like an umbrella catching gusts, so it’s safer to let the wind blow through rather than exert force on the structure.
Our Pergolas are made from rust-proof powder coated aluminium. This ensures your Pergola will stay looking sleek and matte for many years to come. However, if you are living in a coastal area, it is recommended to hose down your Pergola occasionally to prevent sea spray erosion.
During rain showers, the Pergolas are waterproof. When the louvres are shut, rain water runs down the sides into internal gutters, then down through the legs rather than pouring out over the sides. However, please note that during heavy or torrential rain, water may drip through the louvred roof.
INSTALLATION & SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS:
Firstly, we do recommend that you have your pergola professionally installed, simply because it is a large beast.

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS:
This structure is a non-permanent structure and warranty does not cover fading or damage incurred due to extreme weather exposure (including heavy rain, winds, exposure to high heat from bbqs and heaters). It also does not cover damage to the pergola caused by negligence, accident or misuse. Please follow the instruction manual for installation as damage caused by not following the instructions will void your warranty.
Warranty covers domestic use only and does not apply to commercial use. However, we will do our best to help with any issues or replacements parts.
*In some cases, a building or resource consent may be needed. For pergolas over 20 square metres we recommend checking with your local council authorities for further information and guidance.*
